Your CV is your marketing tool that entice employers to invite you for an interview. So how to make it stand out? Simply with capturing accomplishments. Your CV should focus on the relevant accomplishments that will sell you as the best candidate. Your previous experience and job tasks give an impression of what you had been doing and what you are capable of, however it is your relevant accomplishments that will make you stand out from the crowd as a potentially best match.

Imagine that you were hiring for the dream job that you want to find. What would you be interested in knowing about the candidate? Would you want to know everything they did or what they actually achieved? Would you want to know everything that they accomplished or just those amazing results that they got that could transform your business? The key to your success is to make your accomplishments clear, powerful and relevant.
Step #16 coffee break exercise:
Think about your dream job. Imagine what results would you be expected to deliver as a successful candidate?- Write a list of your 5 career accomplishments. Make them clear – be specific about the measurable outcome achieved. Make them powerful – emphasize the difference you made or caused. Make them relevant – tailor them to suit your dream job. Choose those which are most relevant for your dream job.
- Share about your discoveries with your buddy. Supporting each other will help you find your dream job and it’s fun to do it together.
