“No-one is perfect. Build on your strenghts but embrace your weaknesses.”

Welcome back! Have you established your strengths in the last coffee break exercise (#18)? Well done if you had. And if you have not yet, perhaps have a look at the exercise at some point today. Knowing your strenghts is a powerful confidence builder. You may also need them for your interview. Many recruiters and employers like asking one of the most unpopular interview questions “What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?”  This question makes many people uncomfortable but you can make it really easy for yourself.

“Your weaknesses are great assets that can save you time if you know what they are.

If you talk to successful people, including entrepreneurs, you will realise they are pretty much aware of their strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, they are not afraid to admit where they fail and what they are not good at, so why would you? You are a human being, your weaknesses are also your navigators on your road to success. Accepting and embracing your weaknesses is more likely to help you to succeed. Your weaknesses are precious and help you see where you are not so efficient so that you can focus your energy on doing things that you are great at. So which are your weaknesses that you can embrace?

Step #19 coffee break exercise:

  • Blog pictureThink about your dream job. Focus on being authentic and consider your weaknesses (What you are you not good at?).
  •  List at least 3 of your weaknesses.  Now think about how these weaknesses helped you in achieving success in your life? How have these weaknesses helped you?
  • Share about your discoveries with your buddy.  Supporting each other will help you find your dream job and it’s fun to do it together.
